Story

Lawyer Le Van Duong has experience working with domestic and international Clients. Mr. Duong started his legal practice as an in-house counsel at Knight Frank Vietnam, Masan Resources and Vingroup Corporation from 2006 to 2016, before moving to specialize in corporate and commercial advisory, mergers and acquisitions and energy at law firms since 2016. Prior to joining PTN Legal, Mr. Duong held the following positions: Associate at YKVN Hanoi, Senior Counsel at Bizconsult and Partner and Head of Hanoi Office of Indochine Counsel.

In the field of mergers and acquisitions, Mr. Duong has advised both buyers and sellers in diverse fields such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, education, startups and logistics, with typical Clients being CEC, Ecuhold Vietnam, Lavitec, Duy Hung, Holafood, Educa, Elovi, Alliance Vietnam, Viet Thai Group.

In the energy sector, Mr. Duong has advised and represented Clients in the transfer of all shares in a 50MW solar power project, the transfer of minority shares in a thermal power project, and also supported Clients in developing and operating energy projects from inception to COD, typical Clients are Nami Energy, Vietnam Viet JSC, An Khanh Bac Giang Thermal Power, Duc Trong Lam Dong Energy Joint Stock Company. In particular, Mr. Duong also supports Clients in developing new energy projects, such as “surplus gas electricity” in Vietnam.

For foreign investment projects, Mr. Duong has participated in providing legal support to IFC/World Bank, Bank of India – Ho Chi Minh City Branch, AmTrust North America, Inc., Extreme Networks, Inc., Swiss Singapore Overseas Enterprises Pte., Ltd., Vestas Wind Technology Vietnam LLC, Ecu Worldwide Vietnam JSC, Charter Link Hong Kong, Cisco Systems Vietnam Company Limited, FLSMIDTH A/S, Exclusive Networks Asia Pte. Ltd, Foxconn, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Lotte, Deasang, NH Securities, Hyundai, Posco, Sumika, Taixin, Kexim, IBK, Woori Bank to implement investment projects and transactions in Vietnam.
